Thank you to the many parents who joined us this past Tuesday for our annual Sheepshank Sam Lumberjack Day! While this day is a rather large undertaking, it is all made possible by the generous support of our Room 16 families and our Bemis PTO. Thank you to those who sent in food items for our hearty lumberjack breakfast, joined us to cook, serve and clean-up our wonderful meal, helped out in the afternoon with our wood craft and/or our outdoor logging activites. We know this is an event that is fondly remembered by our students for years to come!
It was a pleasure to meet with each of our 26 families on Wednesday and Thursday during our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. Communication between school and home is so important in your child's success. I appreciate your insights and support of your child at home and look forward to continuing our partnership.
We continue to fill our days here at school with loads of learning....
...in Reading we continue to share the Kate DiCamillo story Tiger Rising as we look deeply at the characters to develop better understanding of the story.
...in Writing we've been reading short stories and working with a partner to craft the beginnings of what will be a five paragraph literary essay where we identify a big idea or teaching from the story and support it with relavant examples from the text.
...in Science, just beginning to think and talk about the idea of manetism and magnets in preparation for our investigations next week.
...in Social Studies reading and learning about the first Native Americans to come to Michigan. Why, how and when they arrived.
...in Math drawing our study of multidigit multiplication to a close. Our Unit two test is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 18th.
Coming Soon:
Wednesday , November 26 - Sunday, November 30 Thanksgiving Break
